Transducers: What kind of adhesive should I use to affix my transducer to the inside of my hull?
Use only a 2-part, slow cure epoxy, available from any Boating Supply Store or Home Improvement Center.
Do Not use “5 Minute” epoxies because they are generally brittle.
Do Not use Silicon or RTV Silicone, adhesives (weather Sealants, “Rubber” Caulks, 3M 5200, etc) because they will absorb most of the sound energy.
Do Not use JB Weld, Gorilla Glue, Goop, rubber cement, or gel-coat resin.
